Ayurveda may well be the world’s oldest system of medicine. The reason for this longevity is that Ayurvedic natural medicine has been benefiting the well being of mankind since before recorded time and down through all the ages.
The benefits derived from Ayurveda stem from profound knowledge of the full range of existence, originating at the source of life within unified consciousness extending through the various levels of manifesting energy and arriving ultimately at the physical body.
The word Ayurveda derives from two Sanskrit words, ayus and veda. Ayus means referring to the life span and veda means total knowledge. In sum then, Ayurveda means total knowledge of the life span.
The adjective total appears before the word knowledge because the essence of the Veda is that it constantly reminds us of the true origin of this entire universe within unified consciousness.
Many systems of medicine focus uniquely on the physical body and whatever symptoms are presenting. Ayurveda views any symptomatic problem as an imbalance not only on the physical plane of the body but also on the more refined, energetic levels.
In these more subtle areas, different energies are structuring the body and creating preconditions which may give rise to different weaknesses and illnesses, allowing specific symptoms to take hold. To help someone holistically it is vital to address not only the symptoms appearing on the surface of life but also to help correct the underlying conditions, allowing those symptoms to appear.
One speciality of Ayurveda lies in its ability to understand and identify imbalances before illness can manifest. Ayurveda not only addresses existing symptoms but also can prevent problems from arising in the first place.
How My Gift Relates to Ayurveda
My gift is closely related to Ayurveda because it involves a detailed understanding of the energy body, which Ayurveda comprehensively addresses. I examine what's happening in the chakras and the movements and imbalances of Vata within the energy body. These factors significantly influence what goes right or wrong in the physical body. Ayurveda is essential for truly understanding these processes and issues. Without this knowledge, one is essentially navigating blindly. Modern medicine often focuses only on symptoms without analyzing their causes. In contrast, when we examine the energy body, we can identify multiple levels of causation. We first see the initial cause stemming from consciousness and manifesting through the energy body. Then, we observe how this causation triggers a chain of events affecting the physical body and leading to symptoms.
